#SAFranchiseFriday featuring Body20 Studio

BACKGROUND
Body20 Studio is a rapidly growing franchise within the fitness industry. The combination of state-of-the-art Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology, modern personal training and rapid fitness makes Body20 one of the most exciting franchise opportunities in fitness this decade. Courtesy of its streamlined operations and strong unit economics, the Body20 franchise delivers a high return on investment.

With their strong emphasis on professionalism, transparency and consistent quality service, they aim to assert their position as South Africa’s premier EMS Studio and to establish a network of 100 franchises in the coming years. In addition to a successful career as a body builder and fitness athlete both on the national and international arenas, founder Bertus Albertse worked in the health and fitness industry for eight years before establishing the Body20 brand, ensuring a thorough understanding of the industry.

THE CONCEPT
Local support is available and provided by Body20 Global Support Centres. Franchisees use the Sage One financial accounting system to administer their finances and local support is available directly from the Sage One support centre. In addition, the company employs a robust and professional Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system hosted by Zoho Corporation.

Using the latest EMS equipment, Body20 Studios offer modern personal training and is the only EMS facility to actively track customers’ results with the Inbody programme. Body20 offers the most holistic health and fitness solution combined with Nutrition Doctor for nutrition and lifestyle support, and is now powered by USN.

Body20 clients range from 25 to 65 years and typically fall in the LSM 8 to 10 category.
Body20 outlets are established in areas that are frequented by their typical LSM customer demographic. Preferred locations must be easily accessible, visible, safe and private with sufficient parking facilities.

While the staffing structure will vary depending on the studio type, an outlet would typically employ two trainers per shift and run two shifts per day. Express and Standard model studios are ideal for owner-operators with two to three staff members.

FRANCHISOR SUPPORT
At Body20 Studio, franchisee support is an important element of the company’s success. With the establishment of a new Body20 Studio the franchisor will assist with lease or purchase negotiations and assume responsibility for the aesthetic fit-out of the studio. Franchisees also benefit from the full operational equipment support and supply chain management provided by the franchisor.

All franchisees are provided with full staff training at Body20 University and through area workshops.
