#SAFranchiseFriday featuring Crazy Copies & Stationery

BACKGROUND
Crazy Copies & Stationery is a family-owned business that was started in Centurion 23 years ago. While the business is based on family values, over the years it has developed its own character as a business with an informal twist where the clientele is made to feel welcome and the community get to know one another. It is the type of store where kids who once bought their Grade 1 stationery supplies and books are returning today to stock up on their university supplies.

Crazy Copies & Stationery is a business where both the management and staff strive towards service excellence.

THE CONCEPT
The Crazy Copies & Stationery franchise concept was founded on the franchisor’s belief that ‘people buy from people’. Crazy Copies & Stationery is a business opportunity in the print-to-go industry, ideally suited to individuals with entrepreneurial drive. In this user-friendly environment where personal service is the order of the day, it is the customer that dictates the services rendered and not the other way around. Crazy Copies & Stationery is a destination and convenience store where customers can also engage in impulse buying.

Crazy Copies & Stationery is a one-stop shop providing services such as copying, printing, designing, laminating, binding, courier services, stationery, typing, Internet facilities, scanning, emailing, and more.

The franchisor advocates owner-operated outlets with an initial staff complement of one to two staff members to support the franchisee. Service excellence is a core requisite for establishing a franchise and cannot be discounted against any other business driving force.
As a turnkey business concept, franchisees are presented with a fully operational store including all signage, shelving, equipment and stock. A typical outlet will occupy between 70 and 90sqm.

FRANCHISOR SUPPORT
As part of the turnkey offering the franchisor team provides step-by-step assistance with everything from site selection to store set-up, training, and finally, the store opening.

All new franchisees must complete an introductory in-store training course before opening their own store. The training incorporates an overview of the Crazy Copies & Stationery business model, daily operations, marketing, services rendered, customer service, problem solving, merchandising, basic management skill, store procedures, cost accounting, and general management.

Following the store opening, the franchisor team spends a further period in-store with the franchisee to ensure the staff is comfortable within the working environment.

FRANCHISEE PROFILE
Crazy Copies is looking for entrepreneurs with drive, entrepreneurial skill and a vision of self-sustainability. Retail and/or management experience will be advantageous but is not mandatory. An outgoing personality and interpersonal skills are recommended.
