#SAFranchiseFriday featuring Supa Quick

BACKGROUND
Established as an initiative of what was then Firestone South Africa, Supa Quick was started as a collective of small, family-owned tyre retailers who cooperatively would be able to compete against the corporate tyre giants that once dominated the market.

Supa Quick was eventually established as an independent company and today operates as a close-knit alliance comprising the franchisor, franchisees and strategically selected supply partners. By offering the benefits of a group structure, volume purchasing power and combined marketing funding and activities, Supa Quick stores are assured of the success of the franchise. As a member of the Bridgestone Group, Supa Quick franchisees benefit from their association with the largest tyre manufacturer in the world.

THE CONCEPT
Supa Quick stores are franchised in accordance with the business format franchise model that has been refined to become the outstanding business model it is today. The company recently launched their one-stop shop concept and continues to innovate by expanding their product offering.

Through its national footprint, Supa Quick is dedicated to providing complete customer solutions, delivering excellent service, expert advice and top quality workmanship that fulfils the customers’ needs for safety, performance and convenience products.

Supa Quick franchisees are experts in automotive fitment with a product range that includes tyres, wheels, batteries, shocks and suspensions, brakes, exhausts, and tow bars.

Anyone who owns or uses a passenger, light commercial or SUV motor vehicle is a potential Supa Quick customer. Supa Quick is also a long-standing and leading service provider to all the major vehicle fleets, leasing and contract hire companies.

A typical Supa Quick outlet will employ up to 20 staff members including sales staff, fitters and admin staff.

FRANCHISOR SUPPORT
In line with the business format franchise that Supa Quick subscribes to, the franchisor provides well-defined services and benefits to its franchisees.

Every franchisee must complete the Franchisee Induction Programme and all Supa Quick staff, from the sales people to the fitters, are required to attend The Supa Quick Way course where they are trained on customer relations, sales and marketing, product knowledge, and technical aspects.

A team of Technical Managers is charged with ensuring that all technical staff are trained on the latest product and vehicle changes. While Supa Quick’s suppliers provide product-specific training, technical training is also provided on-site at venues around the country.

FRANCHISEE PROFILE
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in the retail tyre fitment industry, but applications from candidates with a strong retail background are also welcomed.
