Arching to Melrose

Engel & Völkers Southern Africa has kept it no secret that the company has experienced exceptional growth this year and now it seems like the elite Real Estate Agency will not leave any stone unturned or unbranded as a matter of fact – as they have just signed another licence for the Melrose area in Johannesburg.

Craig Hutchison, CEO of Engel & Völkers Southern Africa says that it no surprise that Scott Pharoah, Licence Partner of Engel & Völkers Hyde Park, spotted the opportunity to add Melrose to his portfolio, after signing the licence for Hyde Park, earlier this year.

The Melrose Licence includes the suburbs of Birdhaven, Birnam, Melrose, Melrose Arch, Melrose Estate and Melrose North, and the territory comprises a great percentage of lifestyle estates and freehold properties.

Hutchison stated that Melrose is a wealthy and developing suburb in Johannesburg, with the well-known Melrose Arch Shopping Centre that hosts prestigious events such as the Mercedes Benz Fashion week and great art exhibitions. Melrose contains many upmarket homes, only the best of the best when it comes to hotels, as well as the legendary Wanderers Cricket stadium, which is also a great attraction and adds entertainment value as it is located conveniently close to Zoo Lake.

“The suburb is currently experiencing rapid redevelopment and growth, sanctioned by the City of Johannesburg's Regional Spatial Development Framework. The city sees many positive aspects to the redevelopment and continued growth, says Scott.

Not only does Melrose offer you the blissfulness of owning a well located home in a beautiful green environment, it also has a wealth of businesses at your front door, as the area is also home to large corporations such as The Creative Council, Kindle Head Office, one of the largest show rooms to have been showcased by Audi South Africa, and many more.

Hutchison says that they are fortunate to have an entrepreneur like Scott in the family, who is always ready to spot an opportunity, and believes that he is a true asset for the brand.
