Sandwich Baron business model enables swift ascent up career ladder

The rapid rise of a Sandwich Baron employee from a lower level position to an office managerial role has validated the assertion that this food franchise offers exciting and viable business growth opportunities for individuals aspiring to make their way up the corporate ladder.

33-year old Pearl Xakata is one such success story. Xakata started off at Sandwich Baron at a basic service level, first working in the kitchen and then progressing on to managing the cashiers. In 2007, she was promoted to Assistant Manager within the same franchise, and had to learn the franchising ropes quickly, with her duties entailing answering queries, dispatching orders, receiving counter sales, dealing with kitchen staff and ensuring that finances balanced efficiently.

After the store that she worked at was sold to new owners, Xakata was asked to leave as the new franchisees had taken the strategic decision to employ their own staff. After leaving, Sandwich Baron Managing Director, Sally J’Arlette-Joy offered her a job as a Junior Manager only to be promoted shortly thereafter to the position of trainee Operations Manager.

In her position as Operations Manager, Xakata has numerous vital responsibilities, including managing food and hygiene standards, ensuring prime store presentation, customer service assistance as well as food cost analysis.

J’Arlette-Joy notes that the career strides that Xakata has taken are not only reflective of her talents, but also the platform that the franchise provides for career advancement.

“Sandwich Baron is immensely proud of Pearl’s impressive career developments, and maintains that her success within our franchise is a testament to the ambition, proficiency, dedication and hard work that she has demonstrated during her employment.

“Her rise from humble beginnings to a managerial position also proves that Sandwich Baron’s business model is geared towards rewarding capable and motivated individuals by furthering their professional careers. Sandwich Baron is not merely concerned with offering premium service and producing fresh sandwiches of outstanding quality, but also providing a base for talented individuals to advance their careers and livelihoods.”

Xakata notes that Sandwich Baron’s menu offering is the most attractive feature of the business for customers, as the food is both affordable and healthy. She concludes that she has lofty ambitions for herself.

“I am immensely grateful for all that Sandwich Baron has done for me in helping further my professional career. Through hard work, a focused business mind set, and achieving the highest standards of professionalism, I intend to rise even further up the management rankings at Sandwich Baron, and ultimately own my own franchise store one day.”
