Scooters Pizza at forefront of innovation with launch of toasted pizza wrap

Johannesburg, 2 May 2012 - Scooters Pizza’s reputation for innovation and value for money has been proven yet again, as it has become the first major fast food brand in South Africa to introduce a toasted pizza wrap. This delectable new food product is a traditional wrap, filled with delectable pizza toppings and mozzarella cheese, which is toasted to a crispy golden brown in their pizza ovens. 

The toasted pizza wrap, which has been launched at an introductory price of R29.90, is available in four fillings, namely Hawaiian, sweet and sour chicken, spicy chicken and Mediterranean vegetable.  The tasteful toasted pizza wrap, ideal for a meal in winter, will be launched nationally on 2 May 2012 as a promotional item.  

Christo Calitz, CEO of Taste Holdings Food Division, notes that the decision to introduce the toasted pizza wrap was motivated by market trends.

“Current research indicates that consumers are becoming more adventurous, and that they are hungry to try new things. Therefore, we maintain that the timing is perfect to introduce our toasted pizza wrap to the market, and are certain that our customers will grab the opportunity to indulge this appetising alternative to traditional pizzas, subs and pizones.”

The toasted pizza wrap is ideal for lunchtime, or for anyone looking for a lighter or healthier alternative, as it is not made with traditional pizza dough.

The toasted pizza wrap was developed last year, and is just one of the new products that Scooters Pizza have lined up to introduce in the coming year.

“Judging from the reaction we received from our taste groups, in which all the participants eagerly devoured their toasted pizza wraps, we believe that the product will be positively received by the general public. As such, we are confident that it will become a firm favourite,” concludes Calitz.
