News Cafe celebrates 20th anniversary with fans in its #newscafeturns20 summer programme
News Cafe, South Africa’s most loved cocktail bar and entertainment venue, is celebrating twenty years of good vibes and great service with festivities, promotions and events nationally, starting this October. Voted Best Cocktail Bar 16 years in a row by the South African public in a survey done by Best of Joburg, Pretoria, and Ekurhuleni, News Cafe is pulling out all the stops. They have been working in conjunction with their supportive and excited franchisees and, in a well-conceived match of brand and personality, with DJ Mo Flava from Metro FM who will be promoting the campaign and hosting events. Together, they form the perfect recipe for a spectacular summer celebration campaign.
The campaign will consist of in-store, social media and radio advertising, as well as a series of fun-filled events taking place at locations around the country. Fans will be able to keep up with everything as it happens by liking the News Cafe’s Vibez Facebook page and following its @NewsCafeVibez Twitter account. DJ MO Flava, as well as other notable radio personalities, will also be keeping listeners up to date via live radio announcements and social media interaction.
During the nine weeks of the campaign, News Cafe will give away 20 free cocktails each day. To win, fans should use the hashtag #newscafeturns20 in a Twitter post to celebrate this platinum achievement.
Varina Singh, marketing support specialist at Fournews Developments, who has played an integral part in putting the celebration together, is positive and excited about the success of the campaign. “Fans of News Cafe are encouraged to connect with News Cafe on its social media platforms and keep their ears to the ground,” she says, adding, “We have put together an action-packed series of events which you will not want to miss. We want you to share your memories, share your favourite News Cafe moments and we want you to celebrate with us. ”
Over the past two decades, News Cafe has grown from a single store in Hatfield, Pretoria, to a multi-national household name, with outlets in Botswana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Namibia. It’s undergoing some exciting changes and developments this year, with new stores recently opened in Windhoek in Namibia and Kilimani in Kenya, and stores launching in Westlands, Lephalale and Harare before the end of the year. The brand new flagship News Cafe store is set to open in Rosebank this November. Never content to rest on their laurels, New Cafe has made some exciting adjustments to their menu and cocktails, which will be showcased this summer.
News Cafe turned heads as a unique combination of coffee bar, cocktail bar, restaurant and entertainment venue, with an energy and vibe previously unseen, when it entered the market twenty years ago. It set the benchmark for outstanding standards and innovation for other food and beverage brands that have since entered the market. News Cafe’s dedication to service excellence and quality has positioned it as one of the most-loved destination restaurant cocktail venues in the country.
