Maxi’s Mokopane honours their employees
Happy employees tend to be more productive, which at the end of the day, has a robust effect on the bottom line of any business. Research has shown that there is a significantly strong relationship between employee satisfaction and company success. Adri and Johan Potgieter, the proud owners of Maxi’s Mokopane, prove year in and year out that acknowledging your employees' hard work can go a long way for your business. For the past few years, the Maxi’s Mokopane store has won numerous awards at the franchisor's annual awards. Not only have they walked away as regional winners, but they have for the last three years been awarded with the prestigious prize of being the overall winners of the best Maxi’s in the country.
According to the Potgieter family, their success not only comes from the way in which they handle their business but rather in the way in which they treat their employees. Their plan from the get go has always been to keep their employees engaged, productive, and perhaps most importantly, invested into the continued success of their store.
Each year, Maxi’s Mokopane hosts their very own gala awards ceremony where they then acknowledge and reward their hard working and loyal employees.
“Throughout the year, we continuously motivate our family of employees to work hard and to give their very best regardless of the position that they hold in the business because each and every one of them contributes to the success of the store. We started hosting our own awards to honour our dedicated staff members as our successes would not be where it is without them,” explains Johan.
At the awards ceremony this year, many of the Maxi’s Mokopane employees were incentivised for their hard work, dedication and passion throughout the year. Some of the winners include:
- Employee of the Year: Esther Maifo
- Cashier of the Year: Rachael Mokoka
- Waiter of the Year: Tshepo Ledwaba
- Best up Seller of the Year: Tebogo Ramashala
- Most Improved Employee of the Year: Eddie Maluleka
Their incentives included a variety of prizes such as cruise ship vacations, money, vouchers and household goods.
Maxi’s marketing manager, Yolandi Ferreira, stated that they are always more than happy with the level of service and commitment from Maxi’s Mokopane, “The Potgieters and their team consistently win these awards because they have an excellent management approach that is clearly working! We take our hats off to them for creating a healthy workplace and happy work force”
