Thebe Reed Exhibitions has rebranded and expanded its successful Business Opportunities and Franchise Expo in line with changing trends in South African business.

The annual expo previously known as the Business Opportunities and Franchise Expo will now be staged under the banner THE BUSINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP & FRANCHISE EXPO, reflecting the increased focus on entrepreneurship in South Africa.

Brad Hook, Business Development Director at Thebe Reed Exhibitions, says the expo name recognises the wave of entrepreneurial spirit sweeping South Africa. “We feel the time is right to adjust the brand positioning to ensure that the show reflects the growing trends in the start-up, SME and franchise sector,” he says.

In addition to rebranding the event and expanding its scope, Thebe Reed Exhibitions will co-locate The BUSINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP & FRANCHISE EXPO with the successful Investment & Property Expo under the umbrella ‘Secure Your Future Week’, to give South Africans one-stop access to a broad base of information and opportunities to earn wealth, grow their wealth, invest well and work towards the lifestyle goals. The Business, Entrepreneurship & Franchise Expo 2015, to be held at the dome in Northgate from 10 – 13 September, will include opportunities for big business to network with potential partners and discover high-level business and franchise opportunities; seek advice and explore business services to support business growth; and young aspiring entrepreneurs to learn, network and enter business competitions.

The BUSINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP & FRANCHISE EXPO is presented in partnership with the Eskom Development Foundation, which has a strong focus on developing South African business through programmes such as the Simama Ranta high school entrepreneurship development programme and the Business Investment Competition for entrepreneurs.

In 2014 this expo attracted over 8,251 aspiring entrepreneurs and business people, as well as over 1,500 students and many delegates from countries across Africa. 94% of the entrepreneurs at the event said they were actively planning to start or expand their businesses in the next six months and 64% said they were likely to buy into a franchise or business opportunity available at the expo.  Hundreds of exhibitors, consultants and business development experts interacted with visitors over the four days of the show, reporting highly successful interactions and a large number of business agreements concluded on the show floor.
