Maxi’s Secunda set to make a tangible difference to lives of local community members
Maxi’s second
store in Secunda, Mpumalanga, is set to not only ensure that locals are able to
enjoy undeniably delicious and wholesome meals, but also add immense value to
community members.
Maxi’s Secunda
owner Martin van Wyk says that in addition to creating a restaurant
characterised by quick, friendly and efficient service, a quality product, and
a friendly, clean and well maintained environment, he plans to become involved
in several worthy community projects, and uplift underprivileged people.
These projects
will include funding for schools, environmental projects, religious
organisations, and old aged homes in Secunda. Martin notes that his
desire to involve the store in these projects is linked to his core business
philosophy.
“Community
relations are one of the most important elements of a business, as people
located near your area of trade are your main source of income, and it is vital
to build a good relationship with them. I am therefore excited to help
create a material difference in the lives of local people, and add to their
prosperity.”
Christo Calitz,
CEO of Taste Holdings Food Division, asserts that Martin will add immense value
to the Maxi’s brand.
“Maxi’s is not
only driven by a desire to create a memorable customer experience underpinned
by value, but by a commitment to give back to the communities in which our team
members and franchisees live and work.
“Undoubtedly,
Martin is a professional, driven and committed individual whose character and
actions definitely lives up to these values, and will result in Maxi’s Secunda
excelling in terms of store performance and community relations.”
Martin, notes
that he adopts a hands-on management style, strives to lead by example, and
ensure that his employees are adequately trained and completely customer
focused. He concludes that he has ambitious plans for the store.
“My immediate
vision for Maxi’s Secunda is to build a large and loyal client base, reduce
staff turnover, and exceed the store turnover targets that have been set by the
franchisor. Ultimately, we want to develop a reputation as the best
quick-service sit-down and take-away restaurant in town.”
